Painting by Josef Čapek, Czech, born in 1887. Most well known for cubist works, but also an acknowledged poet and writer. He was a vocal critic of National Socialism, and was imprisoned in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where he died in 1945.Labels: Josef Čapek, vintage image
